Pull the trigger on them already

To be honest, I was extremely hesitant about purchasing this pair of gloves. I know that a lot of high class martial artist swear by them. However, that is more of a reason to be cautious in my opinion. When people are paid for promoting certain items, you have to be aware that they are being paid to promote that item in a favorable light. With that being said, I have been training for three years. Boxing is my medium. I am a heavyweight and I train seven days a week. I have had at least two pair of Cleo Reyes hook & loop gloves, two pair of Hayabusa T3 kanpeki gloves, and I just ran through my second pair of Everlast. One pair of the Everlast were the lace up and the other were Velcro. I paid 200 bucks apiece for both of those Everlast pairs. The other gloves were all right around the same price range. The Hayabusa are the best for wrist support but at the same time, the wrist area wears out very quickly. In my opinion, the worst so far. The Everlast lace ups are up there at the top of the list. They were extremely high-quality gloves and they are still, after daily use, appearing to look brand new. They Were Smith St., Limited edition and I still use them, but it’s just so much work to ask someone to stop what they are doing and lace you up every time you want to go and train. Especially When I am the only one in my family who trains daily. I just don’t want to inconvenience them every single day. The $200 Everlast gloves were really good except the first thing that wore out on them was the padding in the front. Right on the knuckle. They still look brand new. They are just worn out and I’ve had them less than six months. The Cleto, Reyes, Hook and loop gloves, both pair were very small and that is an understatement. I already have small hands, and the gloves were really hard to get into with wraps on. Even after breaking them in. However, they had decent support and were double stitched. The knuckle area held up well as well. But to be 100% honest, I would not waste my time with any of those gloves. You will only pay more and get less for your money. This is by far the highest quality pair of boxing gloves I have ever owned and they cost almost $150 less than the Cleto Reyes. There’s not even a comparison. The first thing that I noticed was how hard the knuckle area on the glove is on the outside. I love that. It gives that snapping sound every time you hit the bag and it gives a good crack like a whip. I love it. The wrist support is incredible. Also, they are double stitched all the way around. They even took the time to sew in the thumb. It’s double stitched as well. These gloves are extremely well crafted and just look sexy. The red is vibrant and kind of dark like blood. I love them. The white patch on the top with the Fairtex design is double stitched and incredibly high-quality as well. I am just getting finished with my first full workout with them and I am super impressed. I can’t wait to work out again tomorrow with them. I do not ever take the time to fill out a review this entirely, but as a show of my appreciation for the high-quality product, it’s the least I could do. I wanted to make sure that I included a detailed, unbiased review of this product in hopes that it will help someone else who is on the fence about purchasing them. Do not hesitate. Pull the trigger on them already. You can thank me later last, but not least, they shipped out about an hour after I processed the payment. Literally. They made it from Thailand to my doorstep in two days DHL dropped them off and they were packaged up to travel the world. Best of luck to you.

Question about Products

1. What are the differences between genuine leather gloves and Microfiber gloves?

The differences between genuine leather and microfiber boxing gloves lie in their materials, durability, and maintenance.

Material

  • Genuine Leather Boxing Gloves: Made from the hide of animals, typically cowhide. Leather is a natural material known for its toughness and flexibility.
  • Microfiber Boxing Gloves: Made from synthetic fibers designed to mimic the properties of leather. Microfiber is a man-made material that can vary in quality but is generally engineered for specific performance characteristics.

Durability

  • Genuine Leather: Known for its long-lasting durability. Leather gloves tend to withstand extensive use and retain their quality over time if properly maintained.
  • Microfiber: Generally durable, but not as long-lasting as leather. However, Fairtex Fairtex uses premium quality microfiber that is highly resilient and holds up well against wear and tear.

Maintenance

  • Genuine Leather: Requires regular maintenance, including conditioning and cleaning, to prevent drying and cracking. Leather gloves can also absorb moisture, which may lead to odor if not properly dried.
  • Microfiber: Easier to maintain than leather. Microfiber is typically more resistant to moisture and less prone to odor. Cleaning usually involves simple wiping and less frequent conditioning.

The choice between genuine leather and microfiber boxing gloves depends on individual preferences, budget, and intended use.

2. What model of gloves should I purchase?

First, you may need to identify the purposes of your training. Fairtex offers various types of boxing gloves that serve different training purposes.

  • Training Gloves: For general training, including bag work and pad work. (ex. BGV1, BGV14)
  • Sparring Gloves: Softer and designed for sparring with a partner to minimize injury. (ex. BGV5, BGV6, BGV18)
  • Bag Gloves: Designed for heavy bag work, typically more durable with denser padding. (ex. TGO3, TGT7)
  • Competition Gloves: Lighter and used in official matches. (ex. BGL6)
3. What size of gloves I should select?

Boxing gloves are measured in ounces (oz) and typically range from 8 oz to 20 oz. The right size depends on your weight, the type of training, and personal preference. Common guidelines are:

  • 8-10 oz: Generally used for competition.
  • 12 oz: Common for women and those with smaller hands.
  • 14 oz: Often used for general training and sparring.
  • 16 oz: Standard for sparring and general training for most adults.
  • 18-20 oz: Used by larger individuals or for extra protection during sparring.
